Shame By Rachel Van Dyken

Novel Description
Everything done in darkness, will eventually be brought into the light.

I ran, but all it did was keep me one step ahead of my past. I tried to start over; new name, new identity. But you can't change your soul.
A fresh start at college was just what I needed. For a while, it worked. I was the party girl, the one that seemed confident, but it was a lie.
When guys kissed me--I felt only pain.
When they touched me--Nothing but fear.

Deep inside, every girl wants to be the beauty in the story, to find someone that will see you as their world.
But the truth? I was the beast. And as much as I wanted redemption, I wasn't fool enough to think I'd ever get it.
Until he walked into my life.

I wasn't prepared to fall for someone. My scars were too deep, the wounds too raw. But he offered me peace, he offered me security. I should have known it was just another lie--I should have known that falling in love with my professor was a bad idea.
But I was powerless to stop myself from falling.
And he was powerless to catch me.

Because the darkness finally caught up to me, and as fate would have it, a cruel twist almost bled me dry. But I'm stronger than I knew. I'm stronger than you think.
You think you know my story, but you don't....after all everyone has Shame in their lives-- and I'm no longer afraid to show you mine.

My Review - 4 Scorching Stars *****
This story broke my heart and glued it back together in one go, I read Ruin, Toxic and Fearless all in one night and then I found out that Lisa's story Shame is coming out 1 WEEK LATER, I was devastated that I wouldn't be reading it straight after,  I went into reading Ruin my FIRST Rachel Van Dyke novel and I was blown away by all the emotions and feelings I felt for and with the characters. falling in love with all the characters bodies, personalities and souls wasn't a choice, were pulled towards it by an invisible string.

Rachel has done a fabulous job on Shame, we see how dark and dangerous her mind can get, she explores and has brought in a whole different idea of a horrid past that we haven't seen much of at all in other novels and stories

“Laughter meant healing.
Healing was more than just being cured of cancer or finding the one who actually saw you for you. It was more than getting over your past, embracing your future. Healing’s waking up every day when you’d rather stay in bed; healing’s when you smile instead of cry; healing’s when you can hold your head high, despite what demons try to pull it down.”

I loved practically all the lines in the story but this says soo much about everything and anything, we can live by the philosophy and have a happy life without any dispair.

This novel is a fabulous end to the trilogy and I can't wait the your others novels. Thank you Rachel
